Misje Group AS are looking to recruit an experienced Marine Superintendent to provide professional knowledge, experience and advice to Company vessels as required.

Responsibilities:

• make sure that vessel has all necessary certificates valid and renewed in good time prior to due date
• make sure that vessel is in good overall condition: extra attention to be paid to cargo hold, hatches, safety and other critical systems
• plan necessary maintenance/docking in good time with minimum off-hire
• be responsible for purchase/maintenance budget: both during normal operation and docking
• make sure that Company’s routines and standards are followed on board the vessel
• check the whole vessel during visit/inspection on board, both deck and engine departments
• interviewing sea staff recruits within their area (s) of expertise as requested by the Crewing department
• occasional travel as required

Candidate Requirements:

• Certificate of competency — Chief Engineer
• Sailed as a senior officer
• Significant experience in a seagoing position
• English language level — B2 — Upper Intermediate and higher
• Knowledge of ISM and ISPS
• Operations, technical and safety knowledge of general cargo vessels (coasters)
• Financial knowledge of budgets and maintaining cost control
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Motivated and flexible
