The Corinthia Hotel St. Petersburg is currently looking for ambitious and professional candidates for the position of Banquet Captain.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supervision of the Banqueting Operation Team ensuring smooth and efficient operations of all banqueting and functions. Directing the daily requirements of the operation. Personally supervising the proper coordination of events and takes responsibility for the entire banqueting area. Ensuring that decisions are made according to established policies
  • Ensure staffing levels are as per the minimum benchmarks for all events/functions and that all staff are informed and trained as to the function requirements and the requirements of the staff member’s specific job.
  • Review all function and event prior to start of event and ensure that the set-up is as per the function sheet/BEO and that no setup is in breach of any fire or safety standard as prescribed by federal law or hotel policy
  • Ensure that all requisitions from the central stores are placed in a timely manner allowing for fulfillment of requisitions if stock is not available in central stores.
  • Ensure that all equipment for functions and events are available and in good working order prior to events, ensuring that sufficient equipment is available.
  • Placing of orders for rental equipment, cutlery, crockery & linen in a timely manner in order to allow for delivery and cleaning.
  • Ensure that all equipment is correctly stored in the designated store rooms when not in use.
  • Report any defect to the building, venue and equipment via the prescribed method
  • Record all defective equipment and present these to engineering for repair as required.
  • Ensure participation in monthly routine stock counts and equipment counts when required.
  • Ensure that beverage stores are secured at all times and that all alcohol is recorded as per SOP. Alcohol received from clients must be handled as per SOP.
  • Consulting with the hotel personnel and client regarding the preparation of special dishes and service.
  • Handling all guest requests and inquiries of food, beverage and service. Ensuring that all employees establish a rapport with guests.
