Network Operations Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Network implementation of customers standard or customized solutions ,
• Understanding customer technical requirements and needs and translating these into best possible technical solution,
• Participation in customer Proof-of-Concept (PoC) tests and documentation thereof,
• Analysis of the logs of network devices as well as prevention of possible errors and breakdowns,
• Participate in the implementation of the IP and DC LAN networks,
• Planning, coordination and execution of critical network hardware and software updates,
• Technical preparation of service and network devices installation in cooperation with other departments,
• Maintenance of DNS entries of network devices, record network devices in the inventory database,
• Maintenance of customer service settings (incl. removal of configurations from network devices upon termination of customer services);
• Interact, when required with vendors, suppliers and other operators for optimal customers solution / service choosing,
• Performing where required, on-site activities (equipment installation, configuration, maintenance, etc)

Specification:

• High Education in networking, IT or related fields
• Minimum 3 years of experience in developing network technologies in the Internet industry
• Minimum 1 year of practical experience in enterprise customer environment on design and / or operations of networks.
• In-depth knowledge in network architecture, security, wired and wireless LAN technologies, WAN infrastructure, OSS Systems and programming.
• Minimum 3 years of practical hands-on experience in the operation or ongoing management of following protocols and technologies, including, but not limited to:
• Access network technologies, such as: DF, leased lines, xDSL, Ethernet
• IP and related protocols: IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, UDP, etc
• MPLS transport and signaling protocols as well services, utilizing MPLS underlay (L2VPN, L3VPN)
• Routing protocols: BGP, link-state IGPs
• Layer 2 protocols, applicable to switching in LAN, DC and Carrier Ethernet environment
• CoS and QoS mechanisms and application of thereof
• Security and encrypted tunnel overlay-based services: stateless and stateful firewalls, authentication, IPSec and similar overlays
• SD-WAN services
• Cisco routing and switching portfolio
• Juniper routing and switching portfolio
• Linux-based platforms
• Virtualization environment
• Nice to have : International experience, preferable in telecom or datacenter business
• Fluent in English and Russian
• Able to work independently as well as under pressure.

Working conditions:

• Working schedule 5/2, standard office hours. Possibility to work remotely 1 day a week
