Aramco Research Center – Moscow is offering great job opportunities for a motivated, talented, and energetic theoretical / computational researcher to join our growing Advanced Materials team. Advanced materials can play a key role in the development and optimization of better performing, cheaper, and greener materials and processes for oil and gas discovery and recovery operations. The researcher will be responsible for independently developing, implementing, and applying mathematical models of materials and processes. Examples may include models of single- and multiphase flows in rocks and optimization of membrane separations.

Responsibilities:

  • Search and analyze scientific literature on modeling & simulation of upstream processes.
  • Implement mathematical models of heat and mass transfer into computer codes, self-written and/or with open-source software.
  • Carry out simulations and optimization of processes.
  • Record and organize obtained results in suitable form (e.g. Excel spreadsheets, Word documents).
  • Help to maintain computational resources (e.g. administration of a Linux workstation).
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Make informal presentations on computational methodology, literature search and results obtained.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Specialist/Masters/PhD degree in Physics, Applied Math, or Engineering; Senior specialist degree, master and PhD students will also be considered.
  • More than 5 years of practical laboratory experience (but we can consider a final year student of a specialist or master's degree).
  • Computer fluency; hands-on experience with Linux is highly desirable
  • Strong general background in Applied Mathematics (linear algebra, differential equations).
  • Knowledge in numerical methods, in particular relevant to solutions of heat & mass transport equations.
  • Programming skills (Python + Fortran/C); knowledge in distributed computations (MPI, GPU) is a plus.
  • Experience in searching and analyzing scientific literature and patents in English.
  • Experience in preparing scientific reports and presentations.
  • Knowledge of English at a level not lower than Intermediate (reading specialized literature, basic communication skills).
