Professional Experience:
- 3+ years of legal experience, preferably in the IT, Gaming, or Entertainment industry as an in-house legal counsel;
- Strong background in contracts, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance;
- Experience with international legal frameworks is highly desirable;
- English language level B2+ is a must.
Skills:
- Strong drafting skills both in English and in Russian is a must
- In-depth knowledge of intellectual property
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
Educational Background:
Law degree from Russian top tier university (MSU, HSE, MGIMO, MSAL, or St. Petersburg University preferably) or Belarus top tier university (BSU or BNTU preferably).
Nice-to-have:
LLM degree from one of the EU, US or UK major universities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Drafting and Negotiation:
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including publishing agreements, licensing agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
2. Intellectual Property (IP) Management:
- Oversee and protect the company's intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets;
- Handle IP registrations, renewals, and disputes;
- Advise on compliance with IP laws in various jurisdictions.
3. Compliance and Regulatory Matters:
- Ensure the company complies with all relevant local, regional, and international laws, including related to advertisement regulations;
- Advise on legal risks related to game development, publishing, and distribution; draft and update player-facing policies such as community guidelines, player terms, etc;
- Monitor and implement legal policies to stay ahead of industry regulations and trends;
- Advise on consumer protection laws; monitor and resolve consumer claims against the company.
4. Dispute Resolution:
Collaborate with external counsel when necessary for litigation or complex legal matters.
5. General Counsel Support
6. Provide training and guidance to employees on legal matters such as intellectual property, compliance, and confidentiality.
