Hello!

Saber Interactive was founded in 2001 and has since grown into one of the world's largest video game developers, with offices across the globe.

Even if you're not deeply familiar with the gaming industry, you've likely heard of some of our projects: Space Marine 2, Jurassic Park: Survival, World War Z, SnowRunner, Quake Champions, and the Halo series.

We are currently working on several ambitious AAA projects and are looking for Lead Game Designer.

What you will do:

  • Developing clear combat and core mechanics that clearly convey the game’s creative direction and support the player fantasy

  • Owning a major part of combat design: player character, weapons, damage model, AI design and behaviors, encounters, and combat readability and feel for a first-person shooter

  • Creating a tight gameplay experience through strong moment-to-moment play, tension, and meaningful player choices

  • Development, implementation, and balance of gameplay systems, including tuning based on playtests

  • Managing a team of game designers: setting vision, priorities, and quality bars; mentoring and reviewing designs and implementations

  • Working closely with programmers, sound engineers, VFX artists, and animators to deliver tight controls, responsive combat feedback, and high-quality moment-to-moment gameplay

What we expect:

  • 5+ years in game design for PC/console, with at least 1 shipped title in a senior or lead gameplay design role;
  • Proven ownership of combat and gameplay systems (weapons, encounters, AIs, abilities, character stats, game modes, level design) from concept to live tuning. Preferably in first person games;
  • Confident in using engine tools and scripting (Unreal) to prototype, iterate and debug gameplay features hands-on;
  • Data- and playtest-driven: able to define KPIs, read telemetry, and turn feedback into concrete balance and design changes;
  • Experience leading other designers: setting vision and quality bars for combat/systems, reviewing work, and aligning cross-discipline teams;
  • Enjoy building grounded, tense, high-lethality gameplay where positioning, information, and preparation matter more than pure stats.
