Growth Engineer at The Cycle (Remote)

About The Cycle
The Cycle created the period drink — and is now winning the category it invented. We make phase-specific women's health beverages built on a sea buckthorn Omega-7 base, sold nationally at Sprouts and named Most Innovative Beverage Brand at The Beverage Forum 2026, beating every other brand across all of beverage. The company is founded and led by a two-time founder and former Snap Director of Product, and is growing fast across retail and online.
Retail is proven. E-commerce is now organic and growing; we treat it as the next growth engine — and this role builds and runs it.
The role
You lead growth marketing at The Cycle — but you approach it as an engineer, not a channel marketer. You build the systems: tracking, automation, AI-agent workflows, experimentation infrastructure. Then you run growth through those systems — designing experiments, delegating execution to agents, reading the data, and shipping the next iteration. You work directly with the founder, with full ownership of the online growth stack and no layers in between.
We believe channel know-how is learnable and increasingly automatable. What we hire for is the ability to build loops: instrument a funnel, form a hypothesis, ship an experiment, measure honestly, and feed the learning back into the system — every week.
What you own
-
E-commerce growth, end to end. Our Amazon and Shopify channels: storefront and listings, conversion, subscriptions, and retention. You operate them and you improve them.
-
Paid acquisition experiments. Amazon advertising and Meta/Google campaigns, run as structured experiments with clear success criteria — with agents handling the repetitive execution.
-
Tracking and analytics infrastructure. Clean event tracking, attribution, server-side tagging, and dashboards the whole company trusts. If it isn't measured, it didn't happen.
-
AI-agent workflows. Standing loops for reporting, creative testing, competitor monitoring, and campaign management — built on modern LLM tooling and integrated with our internal agent infrastructure.
-
Lifecycle and retention. Email/SMS flows and subscription mechanics that turn first purchases into long-term customers.
-
Integrations. The connective tissue between Shopify, Amazon, our CRM/lifecycle tools, and our data hub.
How we'll measure the role (Q4 OKRs)
-
Amazon: live September 1 (per Amazon Launch Plan), reaching a $10K/month run rate by December 31.
-
Shopify subscriptions: 150 active subscriptions by December 31, with cycle-synced replenishment as the core retention mechanic.
-
Ecomm contribution margin: blended ecommerce contribution margin positive by December, excluding the launch-month PPC spike.
These are the current quarter's targets — the ones you'd be walking into on day one — not a permanent scorecard. They'll evolve each quarter as the channels mature.
Where the stack stands today
We're mid-build on our agent infrastructure, not starting from zero but not mature either — expect to pick it up, shape it, and push it forward rather than inherit something finished. Most of the tracking and martech layer (GA4, server-side GTM, attribution, dashboards) is greenfield: you'll be setting the foundation, not patching an existing setup. If you want tooling and systems that are already fully built and just need running, this isn't that role — if you want to design the tracking and automation layer for a brand at this stage of growth, it is.
What we're looking for
-
An engineering foundation — software, data, or automation. You write code and build systems; you're comfortable with APIs, scripting, and SQL/Python-level analysis.
-
Hands-on martech or growth engineering experience: tracking implementations (GA4, server-side GTM, conversion APIs), CRM and data integration, e-commerce platforms.
-
Daily fluency with AI agents and automation tooling — you already use LLMs and agent workflows to do real work, and you can show automations you've built.
-
An analytical mind: you can read a funnel, design a clean experiment, and tell signal from noise.
-
Initiative and ownership. You don't wait for tasks — you find the constraint and attack it.
-
Fluent professional English.
-
Full-time and exclusive, with solid working-hours overlap with US Pacific Time.
A strong plus: Amazon marketplace experience, DTC subscription e-commerce (Shopify, Recharge-class tools, Klaviyo-class lifecycle platforms), CPG brand expirience or hands-on paid media.
