Oracle Database Administrator

Position Description:

As a data engineer at an international finance company, you serve as a member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities:

• Oracle Databases - analyzes, designs, engineers, installs, configures and supports Database Management systems in support of business technology requirements.
• Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications.
• Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risk- s and govern remediation statuses.
• Considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications.
• Actively participates in performance tests, and documents or identifies the bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization and capacity performance.
• Works with team to complete tasks to high quality and actively learns new skills.
• Collaborates effectively with other team members.
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.​​​​

Required qualifications and skills:

• 3+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
• Basic experience with Unix systems and shell scripting.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture and administration.
• Familiarity with database backup and recovery procedures using Oracle RMAN, ZDLRA appliances.
• Understanding of database security and encryption practices.
• Good hands-on with DBA stuff - Queries, Query optimization and managing complex procedure.
• Solid skills in database performance tuning, optimizing queries and stored procedures.
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good command of English and Russian - both spoken and written.​​​​​

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

• Software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, PowerShell Scripting etc.
• Oracle certification (e.g., Oracle Certified Associate).
• Knowledge of other db management systems (e.g., SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Astra Linux is a plus.
