Juru is looking for a Senior Protection & Control Engineer for Transmission & Distribution Team based in Tashkent. We are looking for an energetic, driven and motivated young professional to be part of our team working on a wide range of IPP-based projects including engineering of dedicated generation substations of PV Plants, Wind Farms and CCGT/Hydrogen Plants, as well as designing of HV/EHV utility substations across the Central Asia region.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop proper protection and control schemes for 35-500 kV transmission and distribution substations
  • Develop basic and detailed documents including single line, secondary wiring/installation and logic diagrams as well as design criteria, equipment technical specifications, datasheets & BoQ for brownfield and greenfield projects
  • Perform protection coordination studies, develop relay settings and protection philosophies for 35-500 kV distribution and transmission substations
  • Sizing CT and VT for protection & metering devices
  • Coordinates design activities with clients/stakeholder and vendors to maintain project schedules, budget, quality requirements to ensure successful project completion
  • Coordinate with various disciplines, review work done by his/her peers
  • Act as a mentor, lead & guide junior engineers in performing delegated tasks;
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A university degree in electrical engineering or similar field
  • 5 years of experience in engineering design of substations up to 500 kV
  • Good command of English and Russian, both written and verbal
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of SCADA, Emergency Control Automation systems;
  • Knowledge of commonly deployed protective relays in substations environments (microprocessor, electronic, and electromechanical)
  • Knowledge of IEC 61850 (GOOSE, MMS, SV) and its implementation
  • Good working knowledge of GOST standards, PUE and international standards and regulations
  • Understanding of instrumentation commissioning and test procedures
  • Good communication, analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Approachable, a good listener, well organized, diligent, self-motivated, and career-oriented
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented workspace and adapt to the new fast-growing dynamic environment
  • Strong agility and interest in learning new skills and tools
  • Open to schedule flexibility that will allow for a variety of shifts as needed as well as potential overtime
  • Good user of Microsoft Office packages, Google Workspace, particularly MS Excel and Google Sheets
  • Ability to withstand high pressure and deliver results.
