Job Summary:
The Data Scientist will leverage data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modelling expertise to solve complex business problems and provide actionable insights. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven strategies that enhance business operations, particularly within the maritime and ship management sectors. Experience in or knowledge of ship management will be considered a strong advantage.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze large, complex datasets to discover trends, patterns, and actionable insights that drive business outcomes.
• Develop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics to solve business challenges.
• Design and build data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and business leaders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive decision-making.
• Communicate complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI technologies.
• Conduct A/B testing and evaluate the impact of different strategies on key business metrics.
• Create data visualizations and dashboards to present findings and track performance.
• Utilize domain knowledge in ship management to support predictive maintenance, fleet optimization, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala.
• Experience with data manipulation tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas) and cloud-based platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, such as regression, classification, clustering, and deep learning.
• Familiarity with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark) is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of ship management operations, such as fleet performance, compliance, and maintenance systems, is an advantage.
• Knowledge of maritime regulations, logistics, or fleet management systems is a plus.
