Aramco Innovations is a Russian representative office of the research center that is the part of Saudi Aramco, the state-owned national oil company of Saudi Arabia.
The proposed position is intended to supplement the team with an electronics system design and architecture development for robotic system. Developer should have expertise and experience in development of electronic solutions, power system, and motors control for mobile robotic systems. Developer should be able to assemble electronic devices, be experienced in soldering and testing developed electronic devices, be able to select commercially available modules for robots and configure them. This position implies regular communications within peers from the whole center and other research centers, as well as with product owners in the head office in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. It will be possible to take part in the conferences and publish journal papers.
Key functions and responsibilities:
- Research and development of robotic solutions for Oil & Gas industry.
- Design electronics architecture for robot control system (including prototyping and assembly).
- Select motors, power & control modules, sensors and computing power for robotic platforms.
- Adjustment, launch, and maintenance of the developed hardware and firmware.
- Create end-user and project documentation.
Technical skills and competencies:
- Knowledge in the field of electronics and circuit design.
- Knowledge of features of motor control modules, energy systems and sensors for robots and skills in integrating modules into a single system.
- Experience in creating prototypes of electronic control systems.
- Experience with control of electric/pneumatic/hydraulic motors.
- Skills in developing a remote-controlled system.
- Knowledge and experience with single-board computers and boards with microcontrollers.
- Experience with programming on C, С++ or Python.
- Ability to write well-structured documentation.
- Ability to work with control and measuring equipment.
- Version control systems (GitLab is preferred).
