The manufacturing company (food ingredients) is searching of an Purchasing Manager / Buyer
location - Riga Land business center.
The Category Buyer is responsible for actively participating in the strategic sourcing activities for the Ingredients & Packaging categories, with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions, while maintaining and improving product quality and vendor service levels.
The Category Buyer will coordinate the category management team activities across regions to ensure the category strategy roadmap is properly followed and the optimization initiatives launched and executed.
The Category Buyer will work closely with key stakeholders in member organizations and in corporate functions to pursue effective strategies and implementation plans.
Description and Responsibilities:
- Capture real savings for the Ingredients, Ingredients & Packaging (Direct Materials) categories across the organization.
- Lead Vendor selection and negotiation process.
- Monitors performances of vendors and the compliance with guidelines.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key spend categories.
- Track performance within each spend category and define budgetary impact.
- Keep constant analysis of spend data and cost models for continues improvement
- Monitor strategy implementation and contract compliance.
- Lead supplier relationship management to continually identify process improvements and cost reduction opportunities
- Monitor and forecast upcoming risks
- Drive best practices.
- Provide assistance to acquisition strategies by completing due diligence and integration activities for spend.
- Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 - 3 years’ experience in the procurement area in an international company.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills (multiple complex analyses simultaneously).
- Knowledge of risk management with the ability to identify and address anticipated issues
- Good planning and project management skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
