Head of Scientific Department

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified and proactive Head of Scientific Department to lead and develop the university’s research activities. The candidate will be responsible for strengthening the institution’s scientific potential, ensuring compliance with academic standards, and managing research-related processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the university’s scientific and research activities

• Develop and implement research strategies aligned with institutional goals

• Manage documentation and reporting via E-ijro and other relevant platforms

• Oversee preparation and submission of scientific articles, journals, and conference materials

• Ensure compliance with national regulations and accreditation standards

• Work closely with faculty to improve research output (publications, grants, citations)

• Monitor and manage KPIs related to scientific performance

• Organize scientific conferences, seminars, and academic events

• Build partnerships with local and international research institutions

• Coordinate doctoral programs (PhD, DSc) and academic development processes

• Work with talented students, support and organize their participation in academic olympiads, startup projects, and competitions, as well as establish and manage scientific clubs and research groups

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in academic or research management

• Proven experience working with E-ijro and similar digital/government platforms

• Scientific degree (preferred)

• Proficiency in Uzbek, as well as English and Russian

• Strong understanding of higher education systems and research regulations

• Experience in academic publishing (Scopus, Web of Science is an advantage)

• Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
