Financial Controller

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the core finance functions including Statutory and Management Reporting, Financial Planning and Analysis, Taxation, Compliance and Treasury
• Oversee financial, accounting, and internal control functions to ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Lead the preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports
• Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations process and ensuring they are completed, and all reconciling items appropriately addressed in a timely manner for review
• Establish robust accounting processes and regularly review and improve existing procedures to ensure compliance
• Manage all aspects of income tax, SST, and other tax compliance
• Identify and address potential control weaknesses and manage associated risks
• Implement processes to monitor and communicate business risks and opportunities
• Collaborate with other department heads to identify, measure, and manage organizational risks to enhance performance
• Drive continuous process and results improvement through effective planning, performance monitoring, and leadership
• Undertake additional duties, tasks, or projects as assigned by management
• Must be able to work well and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment required
• Ability to thrive in a team environment and effectively communicate and collaborate across the organization

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred
• Prior audit background in Big 4 required
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance
• Fluent English
• MNC or regional experience is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, such as SAP
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with different departments
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work
• Ability to identify and manage risks related to client accounts
• Proven ability to drive process improvements and efficiency
