The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the company is operating in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. As the Head of Compliance together with your team you will review policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with all local and international banking regulations.
One key part of your role will be to evaluate and investigate suspicious activities, monitor changes in the regulatory environment, and provide guidance to the organization on compliance issues.
According to local regulations your function will report directly into the Board of director with dotted lines to the CEO and Regional Compliance team
You are responsible for ensuring internal policies and procedures are being followed, and for conducting regular audits and assessments to identify and address any potential areas of non-compliance.
Other day to day tasks will include:
- Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Monitor and assess changes in laws and regulations that affect the organization
- Provide guidance and advice on regulatory compliance matters
- Assist in the investigation of compliance issues
- Identify and report compliance risks and ethical concerns
- Develop and deliver compliance training and education materials
- Oversee external compliance audits
