The Business Analyst for Cash Loans will be responsible for driving the technical and process aspects of product development and optimization within the cash loan product line. The role will focus on gathering and defining business requirements, translating them into technical specifications for IT, and ensuring that processes are aligned with business objectives. This position will work closely with development teams to design solutions, optimize workflows, and implement system changes efficiently. The candidate will also perform in-depth analysis of product data and ensure the smooth delivery of enhancements through well-documented processes and clear technical communication.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Technical Documentation

  • Lead the collection, analysis, and documentation of business requirements for cash loan products.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for IT teams, ensuring they are clear and actionable.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive business requirements documentation, user stories, use cases, and process flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure technical solutions meet business needs and comply with regulatory and risk requirements.

Process Design & Optimization

  • Analyze current processes for inefficiencies and areas for improvement related to cash loan products.
  • Design optimized workflows and business processes to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and ensure seamless product delivery.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and other departments to define and document process improvements.
  • Implement automation and digitization of workflows where applicable to reduce manual intervention and enhance accuracy.

Technical Task Creation & Collaboration with IT

  • Break down business requirements into technical tasks for IT and development teams.
  • Work closely with IT to ensure timely delivery of technical solutions, resolving any roadblocks or challenges.
  • Conduct feasibility analysis with IT teams to ensure business requirements are practical and scalable from a technical standpoint.
  • Participate in agile sprint planning and backlog prioritization, acting as a liaison between business units and IT.

System Testing & Implementation

  • Define and execute test cases to validate that technical solutions meet the business requirements and process specifications.
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring all system enhancements and product changes function as intended.
  • Collaborate with IT on system integration, ensuring all modifications are thoroughly tested, validated, and deployed with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Ensure that all changes are well-documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders, including user training where necessary.

Data-Driven Analysis & Reporting

  • Gather and analyze data from various sources (loan volumes, customer behavior, system performance) to identify areas for process improvement or optimization.
  • Build and maintain automated dashboards and reports to monitor performance metrics, ensuring real-time visibility of key product indicators.
  • Use data-driven insights to support decision-making and recommend technical and process improvements for cash loan products.

Business Insights & Recommendations

  • Identify trends, opportunities, and risks through data analysis to inform product development and improvement strategies.
  • Work with the product development team to evaluate the success of new features and products and suggest areas for optimization.

Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies in current processes and suggest improvements to enhance product management and operational efficiency.
  • Support automation and optimization of reporting processes to provide faster and more accurate insights.

Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration

  • Work closely with product management, IT, operations, compliance, and risk teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Maintain constant communication with stakeholders, providing clear and timely updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
  • Act as a technical bridge between business teams and IT, ensuring all parties are aligned on project goals and timelines.

Key Qualifications

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience:
    • 2+ years of experience as a business analyst or systems analyst, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
    • Proven experience in documenting business and technical requirements, especially for loan or credit products.
    • Strong technical understanding of banking systems, APIs, databases, and their integration into business processes.
    • Experience working in agile environments, with a focus on sprint planning and technical delivery.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical skills, including proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Power BI) and workflow automation platforms.
    • Experience in creating process flow diagrams and technical documentation using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.
    • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications with clarity.
    • Experience in system integration and testing methodologies, including UAT and regression testing.
    • Solid knowledge of financial products and profitability modeling.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially in working with IT teams.
