Head of Sales

U.S.-Based Company | Remote | Full-Time | Eastern Time (ET)

We are looking for an experienced, results-driven Head of Sales to lead, optimize, and further develop our existing sales department.

Our sales team is already in place. The primary objective of this role is not to build a department from scratch, but to create a structured, transparent, and scalable sales management system — including KPIs, compensation and incentive structures, reporting, forecasting, team development, and revenue growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Team Management

  • Lead and manage the existing sales team to achieve revenue targets.
  • Set clear individual and team goals, KPIs, and performance expectations.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, 1:1s, and performance reviews.
  • Monitor individual and team performance and proactively address performance gaps.
  • Build a strong culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure consistent execution of sales processes and standards.

KPIs, Compensation & Sales Analytics

  • Conduct an audit of current sales processes, team performance, and existing metrics.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive KPI framework for the sales department and individual team members.
  • Design and continuously improve sales compensation and incentive programs.
  • Establish regular management reporting and performance dashboards.
  • Track actual performance against sales targets and identify key variances.
  • Build and maintain accurate sales forecasting.
  • Monitor CRM discipline, pipeline quality, and data accuracy.
  • Analyze key metrics and conversion rates across the entire sales funnel.
  • Use data and performance insights to identify opportunities for improvement.

Revenue Growth & Sales Effectiveness

  • Identify bottlenecks and growth opportunities within the existing sales process.
  • Develop and execute initiatives focused on increasing revenue.
  • Improve conversion rates across different stages of the sales funnel.
  • Increase sales team productivity and overall effectiveness.
  • Analyze lost opportunities and identify actionable improvements.
  • Test and implement new sales approaches, processes, and initiatives.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to scale and improve sales performance.

Hiring, Training & Team Development

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for sales positions.
  • Define candidate profiles and participate in interviews and hiring decisions.
  • Develop and manage onboarding programs for new team members.
  • Build and implement ongoing sales training and development programs.
  • Regularly assess individual and team competencies and performance.
  • Identify skill gaps and areas for professional growth.
  • Provide coaching, additional training, and ongoing development.
  • Create individual development and performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Build a strong talent pipeline to support the future growth of the sales organization.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head of Sales, Sales Director, Sales Manager, or in a similar sales leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and improving the performance of an existing sales team.
  • Previous experience working with the U.S. market is required, with a strong understanding of U.S. customer expectations, business communication, and sales practices.
  • Experience managing sales teams serving U.S.-based customers.
  • Hands-on experience developing and implementing KPIs and sales compensation structures.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with key sales metrics, including revenue, conversion rates, pipeline performance, target attainment, and sales forecasts.
  • Experience recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and developing sales professionals.
  • Ability to identify sales performance issues and translate data into clear, actionable improvement plans.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people-management skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and results-oriented.
  • Strong experience with CRM systems, sales reporting, and performance analytics.
  • English proficiency at C1 (Advanced) level or higher. Fluent written and spoken English is required.
  • Ability to work full-time according to U.S. Eastern Time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in the U.S. trucking, transportation, or logistics industry will be considered a strong advantage.
  • Experience managing sales teams in trucking, freight, logistics, transportation, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. trucking and logistics market, its customers, sales cycles, and industry-specific challenges.
  • Experience selling services to U.S.-based trucking companies, carriers, fleet owners, logistics providers, or other transportation-related businesses is a strong plus.
  • A proven track record of revenue growth, conversion improvement, and increased sales team productivity in the U.S. market.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing company and scaling sales processes and teams.

Why Join Us

  • Direct impact on the business. This is a key leadership role where your decisions and initiatives will have a direct and measurable impact on the company’s revenue and growth.
  • Freedom to build and improve. We want someone who brings ideas, challenges existing processes, tests new approaches, and builds better systems — not someone who simply follows established instructions.
  • An existing team and foundation. You won’t be starting from zero. The sales department is already operating, allowing you to focus on optimization, performance, team development, and scaling.
  • Real ownership and autonomy. We value expertise and give our leaders the opportunity to take ownership, make decisions, implement changes, and be accountable for results.
  • Performance-driven compensation. Your earning potential grows with the results you create, with KPI-based compensation and additional quarterly incentives for exceeding revenue targets.
  • Opportunity to build a high-performing team. You will have the ability to hire, coach, develop, and strengthen the sales organization as the company grows.
  • Growth-oriented environment. We are open to new ideas, tools, technologies, sales methodologies, and initiatives that can improve performance and accelerate growth.
  • Work directly in the U.S. market. You will operate within the U.S. business environment and play an active role in growing the company’s presence and revenue in the market.
  • Long-term growth opportunity. As the company and sales organization grow, there is an opportunity to expand your scope of responsibility and grow into a broader commercial leadership role.
  • Fully remote. Work remotely while being closely integrated into the company’s operations and leadership team.

Compensation & Working Conditions

  • Fully remote position.
  • Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday.
  • Working hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Time (ET).
  • 14 calendar days of paid vacation per year.
  • Base salary: $2,500–$3,500 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Performance-based compensation tied to departmental KPIs and sales results.
  • Target total compensation at expected performance: approximately $4,000–$5,500+ per month.
  • Additional quarterly performance bonus for exceeding the approved revenue target.
  • The final KPI and incentive structure will be aligned with the company’s current performance, financial targets, and growth objectives.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means building a structured, transparent, accountable, and scalable sales organization where:

  • Clear KPIs are established for both the department and individual sales representatives.
  • Every team member understands their targets, responsibilities, and compensation structure.
  • Management receives consistent, accurate reporting and reliable sales forecasts.
  • Sales funnel performance and conversion rates are continuously monitored and optimized.
  • Performance and skill gaps are identified early and addressed through coaching and training.
  • Recruitment and onboarding processes are standardized and scalable.
  • Sales decisions are driven by data and measurable results.
  • New initiatives are continuously implemented to improve conversion rates, team productivity, and revenue.

The primary objective of this role is to drive predictable and sustainable revenue growth through strong sales leadership, a high-performing team, data-driven management, and continuous optimization of the sales organization.
