Due to the expansion and development of the company, we are looking for a Level Designer to create maps for our third-person multiplayer shooter. Our ideal candidate can develop and implement map concepts, as well as maintain and improve the quality of the maps throughout all stages of development.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating readable and workable location schemes.
  • Greyboxing: quickly and efficiently create grayboxes in UE5, as well as improve and suggest enhancements during the process.
    Whiteboxing: ability to use modeling software (Maya, Blender) to create simple props and shapes sufficient for the location (chairs, tables, etc.) and experience with materials in UE.
  • Setting up game modes: familiarity with the initial setup of locations (game mode selection, spawn point configuration) and a basic understanding of Blueprint settings (knowing variables, where to find settings, and how to work with them).
  • Good communication skills: ability to communicate effectively with other departments, ask questions, and clarify details for a deeper understanding of the project's requirements.
  • Map analytics: utilize heatmaps and verbal feedback from the team after playtests, and work directly with the Game Design department to further analyze and improve gameplay on the map.
  • Working with references: find and apply best practices from other games, analyzing and incorporating them into your level design.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Level Designer in the shooter genre.
  • Proven experience with Unreal Engine.
  • Skilled in working with version control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of any modeling software (Maya, Blender, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience designing technical documentation.
  • Experience in competitive gaming.
  • English level B1 or higher, with the ability to read and understand technical documentation.
  • Native proficiency in Russian.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Miro.
  • Advanced knowledge in version control systems.
  • Advanced knowledge in modeling software.
  • Strong knowledge of gameplay TF2 / Overwatch / The paladins / Apex Legend / LoL/ Dota.
